May 18 is National Speech Pathologist Day.! This professional holiday was created to recognize healthcare professionals who specialize in the treatment of communication, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders.
Speech pathologists, also known as speech–language pathologists (SLPs), speech and language therapists or speech therapists, are clinicians who specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
We have the best SLP team here at BEC. Thank you for all that you do for our students and school!

Each May, Better Hearing & Speech Month (BHSM) provides an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) members in providing life-altering treatment.
BEC is thankful to have a great team of educators and speech language pathologist (SLP) at our school to help our students with better speech and hearing. We are proud to have Jamie Jenkins, Deaf Education K-12, Paige Brown, Speech Assistant, Allison Raper, Lead SLP and Haylynn Moore, SLP.
