Three Beebe Elementary students were given 2 books on the Constitution and a flag in recognition of their winning guesses at the Math and Literacy Block Party held on September 19. Members of Major Jacob Gray Chapter, NSDAR, sponsored a booth where in addition to being given a flag bookmark, students in grades 2-4 could guess the number of M&Ms in a jar. The winners were: 2nd grade, Summer Weeks (Ms. Flannery's Class), 3rd grade Grayson Reed (Mrs. White's class) and 4th grade, Wade Ginder (Mrs. McGhee's class). The books they received were "Shh! We're Writing the Constitution" and "What is the Constitution" and were presented by Jayne Spears, Honorary Chapter Regent. For the curious, there were 198 M&Ms in the jar; winning guesses were 197, 199, and 205.
