Flu forms were sent home this week. BEC Flu Clinic is October 17th. Flu forms are due back by October 13th in order to receive a flu vaccine.
There are 2 forms that need to be completed and returned: The FERPA form and the ADH Flu packet. They both have to be returned in order for the student to receive a flu vaccine on the flu clinic day.

It's a great day for story time! BEC students are enjoying a visit from Taylor Bell with the White County Library. #BECwatchusgrow #BPRD

Kindergarten classes will be going to Peebles Farm in Augusta on Wednesday,
October 25, 2023. We hope this is a fun, learning experience for the
students.
The cost of the trip is $10.00 per student. This includes a pumpkin for your
child, a hayride, a tour of the corn maze and many other fun activities.
Parents: If you plan to attend, you will need to pay $10.00 upon your
arrival at Peebles Farm. You will need to pay cash, debit or credit card; they
do not accept personal checks. This admission price will allow you to get a
pumpkin and participate in the activities with your child. Due to limited
space on the buses, we ask that you provide your own transportation. Plan to
make this a special day for you and your kindergarten child.
Please have your child here on time so that we may check roll, turn in
absentees, and see that everything is taken care of before we load the
buses. We will begin loading the buses and plan to leave the school around
8:15-8:30 a.m. Once at the pumpkin patch, we will follow an assigned rotation
as a group.
*Parents attending, please make sure you arrive before us, pay your
admission fee and wait for us inside the gate. One of the first rotations for
some classes will be the hayride~if you arrive after us, you could possibly
miss this rotation with your child.
We will have a picnic lunch at the pumpkin patch and plan to leave the
pumpkin patch around 1:00 to return to school.
Please return your signed permission slip and money for your child by
Friday, October 20 th . Your child will not be able to go on the field trip
without a signed permission slip.

Making crafts are one of the many activities we do in speech because we can work on all kinds of skills. Some of these include following directions, sequencing a task, labeling objects, using adjectives to describe, answering questions, and using our speech sounds. If you have a child in speech, be on the lookout for a squirrel this week. Encourage speech and language skills at home by labeling the pictures and creating sentences to describe each one. -Mrs. Haylynn 🐿️ #BECwatchusgrow

Here are some tips and tricks to support language skills at home for all students--ones who work with speech pathologists and ones who don't! Everything parents do at home helps at school as well, and we are thankful for our awesome parents! ~Mrs. Raper #BECwatchusgrow #BPRD

We enjoyed building with our Stem bins this morning. ~Barrentine

A revision has been made to the 2023-24 school calendar to move the Friday, April 19, 2024 school holiday to Monday, April 8, 2024. There will be no school for students or staff on Monday, April 8, 2024. Friday, April 19, 2024, will be a regular school day.
An updated school calendar can be found at https://bit.ly/3RwBd8b.
Having no school on the day of the eclipse will help avoid potential traffic and other issues due to the influx of visitors expected in our area. It will also allow students to experience this rare event with their families.
