February is National School-Based Health Care Awareness Month!
This month, we celebrate our successes and raise awareness about how School-Based Health Centers improve access to healthcare for our students!
The Badger Health Center is Beebe School District’s School-Based Health Center. Labray Merkel is our School Based Health Center Coordinator.
Our School Based-Health Center, The Badger Health Center, provides a place for students to receive quality healthcare where students spend most of their time, in school. It is a preventive measure that helps break down barriers for families, providing access to Healthcare, Mental Health, assistance with ARKids applications and other resources. The Badger Health Center provides care for some students that may not be able to receive care outside of school. It’s convenient and helps eliminate obstacles, allowing parents to stay at work and students to not miss valuable class time. Our goal is to be a resource center to our families for wellness and prevention, while allowing our students to reach their full potential. Be sure and follow the Badger Health Center on Facebook and visit www.beebebadgers.org/page/badger-health-center to learn more! #BPRD

🔬🌱 Ms. Lori Rose's intern, Kat Larson, brought learning to life with a dynamic lab! 🌟 Students delved into the world of animal cells, crafting play-doh models to understand organelle functions. Then, they explored plant cells, creating delicious models using pound cake and candy. 🍭🎂 Hands-on science at its finest! #BPRD

Our future teachers have had a busy week! 🍎
Pre-Educator students were invited to showcase their very own program at CTE Day at the Capitol on February 1st! Students heard from the Secretary of Education, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, 2023 AR Teacher of the Year Beau McCastlain, and many others. Students were given the opportunity to discuss their program and the experiences they have gained as interns. They also promoted our CTSO, Educators Rising for aspiring teachers.
Earlier this week, students were invited to attend Beebe School District’s first job fair! They were able to see the different departments and jobs offered in our district currently.
We can't wait to see how high these future educators soar! #BPRD
