OCTOBER STUDENTS-OF-THE-MONTH
Laine Shuttleworth is a junior at BHS. She is the daughter of Tim and Allison Shuttleworth and sister of Sydney Shuttleworth. Laine is a member of FCCLA, where she is the Vice President of Programs, and Youth Alive, where she serves on the YA Leadership Team. She attends First Baptist Church of Beebe where she is a very active worker in the Children’s Department and Computer Ministry Team. In her free time, Laine enjoys reading, hanging out with friends, and watching movies. She is enrolled in English Literature, U.S. History, and Biology advanced placement classes and maintains an “A” average. When she graduates from high school, Laine plans to attend the University of Central Arkansas where she will major in Early Childhood Education.
Nicole Salman is a senior at BHS. She is the daughter of Gene and Patricia Salman and the granddaughter of Efren and Yolanda Alamina, and Maria and Eugene Sr. Nicole is a member of St. James Catholic Church in Searcy, and attends youth group there. She is a 7 year member of the BHS Band where she plays percussion. She is also a member of Key Club and the National Honor Society. Nicole is the two year captain of the Lady Badger Soccer team, making All-State last season. She also threw discus for the track team last year and made All-Conference. After graduation, Nicole plans on attending Lyon College in Batesville and studying to become a Physical Therapist.
