Fifth grade literacy students are very excited to start reading the novel Saving Wonder. This will be their first read aloud of the year, and each student will have his or her own copy to follow along in class! Student focus will be on increasing vocabulary and understanding how characters interact with one another (both of which are important life lessons for middle school). Check out this novel if you have a chance! Other 5th grade read alouds this year will include Freak the Mighty, Becoming Naomi Leon, and Where the Mountain Meets the Moon.
