Recess time is usually most of the students favorite time of the day, but for some, it can be kind of lonely or overwhelming. Some of our teachers and administrators got together and came up with the Badger Buddy Bench.
The Badger Buddy Bench is a special designated seating area where students who feel lonely, bored, upset, shy or sad can easily seek friends or playmates. The other children see them there and they know to go over and ask them to play. The bench promotes inclusion and empathy. It also teaches children to seek camaraderie. The Badger Buddy Bench was made by Ms. Carranco's father, Keith Henson. We want all of our students at Beebe Early Childhood to have a great recess!
