Medication Policy:

• All medications must be in the original container and accompanied by a signed form from a parent and doctor

• Students are not allowed to carry medications unless permitted

Screenings:

The district conducts routine health screenings for hearing, vision, and scoliosis due to the importance of these health factors affecting students' ability to succeed in school. The screenings will be billed to Medicaid at no charge to the parents or guardians. The exams or screenings intend to detect defects in hearing, vision, or other elements of health that would adversely affect the student’s ability to achieve their full potential.

School nurses play a vital role in supporting the health and well-being of students by managing chronic conditions, addressing acute health needs, administering medications, and promoting overall wellness. they also collaborate with families, staff, and healthcare providers to ensure students are safe and ready to learn. the following are some responsibilities of school nurses:

• First aid and emergency care

• Administer Medications
