Teachers and school support staff play a critical role in educating and shaping our children: the future leaders of our country. They are kind, patient, hard-working, dedicated and understanding professionals that mold our children’s lives in a positive direction. We entrust our children with the teachers, and they affect their lives on a daily basis.
Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Ms. Stacy Taylor's students used their handwriting and art skills to make 100 Christmas cards for the residents of the Beebe Retirement Center! Before being delivered, the cards were used for lots of math word problems and fun counting activities! The students focused on being kind and wishing others well as they made the cards! When asked about the card project, several students said the following:
I like doing kind things. I hope the people will be happy because they see all the cards!
It’s like a gift or a stocking. I like art and it’s for them and they will smile.
They gave me candy when I trick-or-treated them. I am making the cards to give to all them and the cards make them smile.
I love making cards for people because it will make them happy and feel good!
People like a nice card. People will like them.
I hope they like them and it was fun and that’s like Christmas! So everybody should have a Merry Christmas!

Many of our youngest students miss 10 percent of the school year—about 18 days a year or just two days every month.
Chronic absenteeism in kindergarten, and even preK, can predict lower test scores, poor attendance and retention in later
grades, especially if the problem persists for more than a year. Do you know how many young children are chronically
absent in your school or community?
